The SILOPOR – Empresa de Silos Portuários, SA is taking another important step in the rehabilitation of the U 110
The placement of a new horizontal telescope tube on spear number 1 was carried out by the company Maçarico & Oliveira in close collaboration with the maintenance services of the Trafaria terminal.
The pipe, weighing 5.6 tons, 18 meters long and 0.620 millimeters in diameter, was lifted by a 60 ton crane. and guided to its final position by a mechanical cable system.
During the month of February, having completed all the repair work on boom No. 1 of the U 110, load tests of the new vacuum generation system began.
In the presence of a technician from Vigan Engineering in collaboration with Silopor’s technicians, several tests were carried out in order to verify the entire operability of the new system and the unloading operation began, testing various parameters and settings.
A new phase in the unloading process at SILOPOR was thus initiated, awaiting with expectation and enthusiasm the results of all the work and investment in this project.
