The Silopor – Port Silos SA announced in a statement, the conclusion “with success” of the 4th certification cycle (2018-2020) in Food Safety Management Systems, according to the fulfillment of the requirements of the standard NP EN ISO 22000 : 2005.
The ISO 22000 standard – Food Safety Management System is based on the internationally recognized ‘Codex Alimentarius’ HACCP principles. Although the approach is carried out in the aspects of food security, at all stages of the supply chain, this standard also proposes that ethical issues and consumer awareness be taken into account.
In 2021, the company will start a new certification cycle that will include, under the terms set out, the transposition of the ISO 22000: 2018 standard. «By applying the procedures of HACCP, Good Hygiene and Operation Practices, traceability, conservation, and operation and maintenance, Silopor« guarantees the Food Safety of the food products handled in all stages of the activity and in all installations – Beato and Trafaria Port Terminals, including the ‘Silopor’ barge, and Vale de Figueira Silos », the company stressed in the statement.
