Trafaria receives record maize discharge

The Trafaria Bulk Food terminal showed all its operational capacity during this month of December – the infrastructure (which includes the Port of Lisbon) concessioned to Silopor Trafaria received a record unloading of 82,641 tonnes of maize between the 7th and 21st of December.

Silopor Trafaria’s capacity to receive bulk carriers in the Capesize category was demonstrated with the reception, between 7 and 21 December 2020, of the ship CSSC Amsterdam (a ship with a length of 255 metres and a breadth of 43 metres), which, at the Lisbon port terminal, unloaded 82,641 tonnes of maize to the national agri-food industry during that period.

This volume of goods is among the highest received by the Trafaria terminal in the last 20 years, demonstrating “the importance of this installation at the port of Lisbon for the competitiveness of the Portuguese economy”.

It should be recalled that the Trafaria Bulk Food Terminal, is a terminal specialised in the reception of agri-food bulks, classified as deep water, with technology that equals the best in Europe.
