vale de figueira silo

Located in Ribatejo, near Santarém, about 100 km north of Lisbon, it is set in an area that traditionally produces not only grains, namely corn, wheat, and barley, but also oilseeds, such as sunflower and rapeseed.

In addition to receiving bulk foods produced locally, it can also receive grains that are transferred from the port terminals of Trafaria and Beato, either because a longer stay in the silo is expected, since storage costs at Vale de Figueira are lower than those applicable to a port silo, or to meet a need when the response capacity of these terminals in terms of their storage space has exhausted, or even for grain sorting and cleaning operations.

It has a storage capacity of about 24,000 tm, in 34 vertical cells supplied by 2 road hoppers, with a capacity of 60 tm / h, and the weighing, both at the reception and at the road shipment, is carried out by a 60-ton weighbridge.

It can also carry out grain drying operations using an LAW dryer with a capacity of 300 tm / day, as well as sorting, cleaning, or cooling. All products in stock are subject to phytosanitary control.

It is equipped with a computer system for controlling the movement of products and stocks which also provides daily information to all customers, enabling the management of their stocks, their delivery orders, and the balances of their customers.

It has a Food Safety Management System in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22000.
